Three weeks and $100 later and our hallway and linen closet makeover reveal is here! It doesn’t even feel like the same space anymore.
Today is reveal day! It felt a little “silly” to give our second floor hallway a makeover. But throwing in the linen closet made the project feel legitimate. And since my goal is always functional beauty, I focused on that a lot for this hallway and linen closet makeover.

HALLWAY BEFORE
Not terrible. But not pretty either. This hallway really needed a fresh coat of paint and I had a few ideas on how to make the space work FOR us.
LINEN CLOSET BEFORE
Honestly, I don’t even want to look at this photo any longer than I have to. I am cringing right about now. Is it kinda sad that I knew where everything was in this mess?
HALLWAY REVEAL

Eek! I didn’t think a hallway landing could look so pretty!
The little shelf James built in week two is a fun surprise in this space. I love that it holds a few items that were previously just sitting on the floor. And for good measure, I added a pretty picture and fresh clippings from a pothos.
Also, this vintage mirror was a fun find this past weekend! It fits in the space perfectly and will serve as an extra mirror for when the bathroom is “occupied.”

LINEN CLOSET REVEAL
Can you even believer this is the same linen closet? Now I definitely know where everything is…
{Details coming soon in a separate blog post on organizing this linen closet!}
It’s official: I am smitten with this hallway and linen closet makeover reveal. Is it okay if I just hang out here? Or maybe incessantly ask if anyone needs anything from the linen closet?
PROJECT CHECKLIST
√ Style little shelf
√ Find and hang mirror
√ Organize linen closet
REVEAL WEEK BUDGET
Print and frame: $0
Vase: $0
Mirror: $20
Organizing Bins: $39.59
Spray Paint: $5.98
BUDGET
Week One: $8.77
Week Two: $28.54
Reveal Week: $65.57
Total Spent: $102.88
Okay, I went over by $2.88. But I’m going to give myself a pass this time since organizational tools are really hard to keep under budget. Plus, the mirror put a bigger than expected dent in this week’s budget. It feels okay though since it was vintage and I see it being in my home for a very long time.
What do you think? Do I get a pass for going over a few dollars?

Everything looks great! Very inspiring!!
Thanks, Jennifer! 🙂
So bright and organized! I love what you did in the hall and closet! Also, I love your doorknobs!
Thank you, Joy. I appreciate the encouragement. Wish I could take credit for the doorknobs, but that goes to the builder over 100 years ago. 🙂
Wow your linen closet! What a transformation! Now come do mine please!
Thank you, Wendy. I’m on my way now… 🙂
You should just leave that linen closet door open all the time! You did such a great job on this project!
Dara! I love that idea! Door coming off soon. 😉
I ditto what Dara said! Everything is so neat and tidy – looking all organizationally swanky.. Great job!
Thank you, Jamala! It was a fun project…and now I’m not embarrassed by the closet. 😉
It’s the small pretty spaces in a house that make it a home. I love the cute little pink bins in the closet with the green shelves. Pretty details like that make all the difference. Great job!
Aww, thank you, Jackie! The pink was a last minute, “Oh, that would be a fun pop of color.” Glad I went with it…plus they were super cheap!
Wow that is looks amazing you did such a great job this season and gained so much more storage space!
Thank you, Jen! This space and closet are working so well for us now.
Love the mirror looks so good. Great job on the closest.
Thank you, Dondra! I am so glad this is done and we can just enjoy it.
Another amazing space! I love how you tied the green from the staircase into the linen closet. The added shelving in the hallway is super cute as well. I think we all have closets that look a lot like your “before” picture, and this is a great reminder of how much a little organization can completely change a space. Thank you so much for joining another round of this challenge. I always love seeing what you do!
Thank you, Erin. This room challenge is always so fun to participate in. Thank you for organizing it!
I love your hallway! And that light is adorable.
Thanks, Brooke! I am so glad to have that disgusting light out of here. 😉
