Simple homemaking tasks can bring much joy to a home. Adding a few new decor touches and cleaning up some needed spaces has give our home a fresh feel.
This past month has been a full one…September has a way of doing that. But, in a few spare moments here and there, I made some simple homemaking changes that brought a smile to my face. These have added a little pep to my step as the season transitions from summer into fall.
SIMPLE HOMEMAKING: LIVING ROOM COZINESS
After keeping our living room pretty neutral this summer, I dug out my fall pillow covers. This has added a cozy feel as the colors move from summer to fall.

LAUNDRY ROOM FRAMED PRINTABLE
After using a scribbled and torn piece of paper for my homemade laundry detergent, I finally took the time to print out and hang my recipe. {You can get the recipe and this FREE printable HERE!}

VINTAGE DRESSER PAINT TOUCH-UP
This dresser sits right inside our front door and takes a ton of abuse. I think everyone who walks through our door sets something on here. And I love that! But no amount of cleaning was removing the “dirty” look.
My thought was a quick paint touch-up to the top…
But once I started with the paint brush, it was obvious that the entire dresser needed a fresh coat of paint.

SIMPLE HOMEMAKING: FALL CHALK LETTERING
After gathering a few fall quotes, I gave the list to my daughter and let her choose which one to write out for our entryway.
We use a large canvas covered in a few coats of chalkboard paint and she changes it out for me with each new season.
BUDGET-FRIENDLY FRAMED ARTWORK
Taking two thrift store frames, I gave them a new look with spray paint.
The black just didn’t go well in my daughter’s room, plus the lighter color helped the artwork stand out more.

The simple homemaking focus this month was so much fun. None of these “projects” took very much time. And all together, it took about an hour of my time. But the results have added a little more character and some cozy to our home.
What little tasks have you worked on lately?
