Books for homeschool moms are a great resource for those years of educating our children. Hearing from other moms helps us to feel like we are not alone.
The homeschool mom life can often feel lonely. We spend a lot of time with our children and must be intentional about being with other adults. For those in between times from filling up on encouragement from friends, a few books have been uplifting for me. I’ve gathered a few favorite books for homeschool moms that have given me ideas, but mostly, they have helped me feel like I am not alone in this journey.

BOOKS FOR HOMESCHOOL MOMS
TEACHING FROM REST by Sarah Mackenzie
This little book packs a big punch. Suggested by a sweet friend, I purchased it at a homeschool convention over 8 years ago. The points that the author makes are simple, yet profoundly impactful. It has become my tradition to re-read this book before beginning each new homeschool year.
SEASONS OF A MOTHER’S HEART by Sally Clarkson
Sally Clarkson is a huge source of heart encouragement for me. After reading many of her books and listening to her podcasts, I can say with strong conviction, that she quiets my heart. Sally also gives me such practical insight on how to carry through with this season of homeschooling. I have read this book a few times and think I will add it to my stack to read yet again.
HOMESCHOOL BRAVELY by Jamie Erickson
If I could recommend one book for brand-new homeschool moms, this would be the one. I wish it was in print when I first began homeschooling because it would have been an amazing resource. Even so, I found it to be really helpful ten years into home educating.
8 GREAT SMARTS by Kathy Koch
This is not officially a homeschool mom book. However, it offers some amazing insight that really helped me to hone in on each of my children. After reading this book to myself, I found some videos online by the author and shared those with my family. We also used the resource she mentions in the book to discover our individual “smarts.” That was a really fun activity! And then my two big kids read this book for themselves.
THE BRAVE LEARNER by Julie Bogart
I am still working my way through this book, but I wanted to share this homeschool mom book anyway. I really appreciate Julie’s creativity and enthusiasm. Her practical application has given me some new ideas for our home. {I do want to add that this book is more specific for families with younger children.}
Have you read any of these books? Any you plan to add to your reading list now? Or any you would add to a homeschool mom book list?
