Remember that day at the end of the summer when fall began to creep in and I made a grapevine wreath? Well, I have loved it and was so happy with how it dried out perfectly. So much so, that I didn’t want to let it go. My solution? Turn it into a Christmas wreath!
And you can do this too. Grab your grapevine wreath and add whatever you would like to it! As you will see, I opted for natural elements, but you can use store bought greenery and berries. {And you can totally use a store-bought grapevine wreath too!} You can add as much or as little decor as you would like. Again, I opted for greenery on half of the wreath because I was aiming for a more simple wreath. Decorate your wreath in whatever style you love!

I decided to take my wreath down from the door and to lay it on the floor to decorate it. Just remember that when you hang it back up, gravity will not be your friend and you will have to fix it up a little bit then. In that regard, decorating while it is hanging might be easier, but our temperatures have dropped and standing outside to do this was not on my list of things I wanted to do.
Use whatever you may clip from trees and bushes. Ask neighbors for some…I’ve also been told that wherever Christmas trees are sold, you can ask about free leftovers.
Now for the fun part! Stick your branches right through the grapevines. Work the branches to wind around the grapevines as that will help keep it all in place.
Use different types of greenery as it will add dimension to your Christmas grapevine wreath.
Fill in the greenery with colors from berries, etc. I found a few sumac pods on my property and clipped them. {Public Service Announcement: Do not use sumac if you are allergic to it! Most people do not have an allergy to sumac, but be sure you are not allergic before you handle any part of a sumac tree.}
All done and ready to hang up now!
I was so excited to paint our front door red as I was thinking ahead to how our home would look at Christmas!
Real life: unfortunately, we have a storm door that covers up some of the red. But, the storm door helps to keep our farmhouse warmer…and it could use all the help it can get!
