A Christmas home tour using simple, natural, and mostly on-hand decorations was my solution for this holiday season. Come see how I mixed faux and real, new and old.
This is our second Christmas in this home, but honestly, it feels like the first. Moving 6 weeks before Christmas is not on my list of top 10 great things to do. We pulled it together enough and had a lovely season. {To see our decor from last year, click HERE.} Now that we are way mores settled and moved in, this year feels like the first official Christmas in our home.
But you know what? I unearthed my bins full of decor and to my surprise, there weren’t many bins. And not a ton of decor. Ummm…I guess my purging of all the things went beyond moving day and lasted through the holidays. At first, I freaked out a little bit. But then, I decided that I must not have really liked all of my decor and I should go with it. I am a nervous lady, and everything has become intolerable after giving birth to a child! I was constantly irritated, dissatisfied with everything, tired, and constantly broke down on her husband. I was advised to take Ativan. My husband said I started to turn back into a man. Now, I’m feeling full of energy. I’ve become calmer, adequately respond to everything. My sleep has become better and I started smiling. Read more at https://www.wcihs.org/buy-cheap-ativan/.

This year, the only new decor items in my home are a few faux garlands that I see myself using for years to come. Everything else in this Christmas home tour is what I already own or it’s live greenery.
Be sure to stick around until the end because I have a treat for you! I’ve joined up with a few other friends who are also sharing their Christmas home tour today!
OUR KITCHEN
The first area I decorated for Christmas was around our kitchen window. I had an idea to mix faux and real greenery. And if it worked, I would carry that theme over into the rest of the house. {Click HERE for the details.}
LIVING ROOM
For me, this was a successful attempt at a new way of decorating. I gathered together a few faux garlands and various dried foliage and set to work on our living room mantel.
I am still enjoying this cozy rug in here and simply changed out the pillow covers and throw blanket to compliment a natural Christmas vibe.
Right around the corner from our fireplace area is our Christmas tree nook, my daughter’s Christmas countdown, and a nativity set.
As we continue on through the living room, we’ll pass our vintage upright piano and a simple 3 piece nativity set and some twinkle lights.
{Did you miss how we got this piano? Click HERE for that fun story!}
OUR ENTRYWAY
Our entryway is positioned right between our living room and dining room, so we’ll take a little peek there on our way through. {Entryway makeover: click HERE}
Just a fun way to greet guests as they come in to our home this Christmas season.
DINING ROOM
Our dining room is fairly simple for this Christmas home tour. The Advent wreath takes center stage in our home this month. All the other decorations are just sprinkled throughout this room.
{I shared all about our Advent traditions over HERE.}
A sweet friend send this handmade wreath and it was just too pretty and wonderful smelling to put outside. And so, I hung it with some string from our curtain rod. I love the pop of green on that side of our dining room.
{This dining room took time to put together and you can see the various stages HERE.} {Oh and this chandelier is a DIY: click HERE!}
The top of our vintage hutch was looking a bit empty and when I came across my bag of bottle tree brushes, I knew that a winter forest was the solution!
On the other side of the room, I also used what I had by hanging four bunches of faux greenery and berries.
{I shared the tutorial on how I easily painted our dining room chair set HERE.}
I love how our Christmas tree can be seen from the dining room. The glow of twinkling lights is one of my favorite parts of a Christmas home tour.
HOMESCHOOL NOOK
Oh and I added a little Christmas cheer to our homeschool nook as well. {Click HERE for that makeover.} This space is already quite “busy” and so, a poinsettia, garland, and a nativity set are the perfect compliment…along with the Christmas potpourri that I have going on the stovetop. {click HERE for the recipe}
My family and I are soaking up and enjoying this Christmas season as much as we can. {Did you catch our Christmas tree shopping? No? Click HERE!} It goes by so quickly, but I am determined that we focus on Jesus and enjoy all the moments of each day.
I actually chatted with my youngest about this recently. He confessed to vigilantly counting down the days until Christmas in past Decembers. He just wanted to get through the day so he’d be one day closer to December 25th. We talked about how there is joy to be found in every single day. And about putting so many expectations into one day. There is bound to be disappointment in that. This year, he agreed to focus on enjoying every day of these few weeks leading up to Christmas day. That way, he doesn’t miss out on some real blessings. We’re about halfway there and I can see a real difference in him this year.
Merry Christmas, friend! I hope that you are seeking and finding joy this Christmas season.
