A gathering to discuss A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court with a little sunshine and fresh flowers was the perfect afternoon activity. This book by Samuel L. Clemens {pen name Mark Twain} was a satire and offered much insight into the author’s thoughts on contemporary society.
Book clubs are a great excuse to get together and chat about ideas. Authors often challenge our thinking and give us reason to pause and consider many ideas. We may not always love each book, but there is often at least one thing that we can take away from our time reading and discussing it. SIMPLE AND FRESH SETTING
Using a few simple pieces from around the house, my daughter incorporated plenty of fresh flowers and pastels.
FOOD AND DRINK
One of the girls offered to bring the munchies this time, which was so sweet. I often spend the entire morning in the kitchen, which I gladly do for them. But it was nice to have a book club morning off.
She brought blueberry muffins, banana muffins, and brownies sprinkled with toasted coconut. Delicious!

MOVIE NIGHT
It’s always fun to gather for a movie that compliments a book. This movie is a bit older, but that makes it even more fun. Be sure to ask this question afterwards: “Which was better: the book or the movie?”
