HOOP WREATH SUPPLIES
The following supplies will be needed for this project. Check your craft and Christmas decor stash as you may have many on hand already.
- Embroidery hoops Use a variety of sizes for more depth and contrast. I used 5, 8, and 10 inch hoops. I also separated the hoops since two come together.
- Greenery I chose to use two garlands that I already had. That was a great solution. But loose greenery can be used as well.
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Wire cutter This will be used to separate the greenery.
- Ribbon Any color can be used, but I chose a burgundy that would tie in with the couch pillows, as well as be a contrast to the greenery. (I used two rolls.)

THREE SIMPLE STEPS
1. Take apart each hoop and use each individual hoop as one wreath. {To make seven, I need 4 whole hoops. I ended up with one extra and set that one aside.}
2. Cut the sections off the garland. Use a few different kinds of greenery.
3. Using the hot glue, adhere the greenery to the hoop. Make some full and others sparse to add contrast. Allow the hoops to fully dry before hanging.
HOW TO HANG CHRISTMAS HOOP WREATHS
There are a few options on how to hang these wreaths. Look around your home and see what works with your style. Windows, artwork, doors, and cabinets are all options for layering on top of.
I chose to use the big open wall above our living room couch. My hurdle was in how to hang these. We have plaster walls, so slipping in a thumb tack or a small nail wasn’t going to be an option. I entertained the idea of nailing a thin strip of wood or a long branch to our wall. Another option would be Command hooks.
But I settled on a moldable glue. I recently shared how I used it to create a cozy corner in my daughter’s bedroom and had some left over. My solution was to use the ribbon to hang each wreath at different heights. After cutting off the excess at the top, I stapled the two ribbons together and adhered the moldable glue to the back of the ribbon and stuck it to the wall. Guess what? It worked!
The hoop wreaths have added quite a bit of Christmas cheer to our living room and it’s been a great solution for an empty wall. Plus, it was so fun to be creative!
