You know the old saying: “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” It’s so true. And this time, it was me finding the treasure in a neighbor’s garbage pile. A huge basket that I just couldn’t pass up. It had good bones, errrr…weaving and I knew instantly that this would be perfect as a laundry room basket. I was taking Ativan for 3 weeks and it caused aggression, winding thoughts and irritation, scratch (friends noticed this, and I do too) and I was sleepy (and not during the day but in the evening, from 20.00, although I usually go to bed at 23.00). Perhaps, only I had such side effects…

But first, it needed a little makeover…
Some cleaning up…
A loose handle needed a slight repair…
And then, you just knew that I had to get some paint out to seal the deal on this garbage-picked basket makeover. I used some leftover paint from Country Chic Paint that I had used on our half bathroom dresser vanity. {Click HERE to see all those pretty details.}
Let’s take a quick peek at what I had been using in our laundry room:
It’s not terrible…just boring.
The basket dried within an hour and I replaced the plastic basket that had been sitting atop our dryer.
This is my towel laundry basket. I feel like we go through so many towels each week, that having a basket to collect them right here in my laundry room helps me to keep up with it.
This basket was free and it only took me 30 minutes to paint it, so I call this a quick and easy win in the little by little makeover category! Just a small change and it adds a bit of texture, dimension, and a pop of deep tone into this space.
I was really excited about this little addition to our laundry room and I am keeping my eyes open for more garbage treasures! You do this same, okay?
