A simple entryway makeover can easily be done on a budget of time and money. And this one won’t disappoint on those two things.
Wait, what? Another entryway makeover? I know that is exactly what you are thinking…
But, hear me out. Yes, I did a back porch makeover and then our small entryway makeover. And I promise that I don’t have a third entrance.

This simple entryway makeover was at the request of my sister-in-law…at her house. I absolutely adore time with my family and when that is combined with a DIY project, I’m all in!
ENTRYWAY BEFORE
My brother and sister-in-law have a gaggle of beautiful children and their entryway is right beyond a beautiful porch and along one side of their family room. They are always on the go and my SIL was looking to freshen up this space a little bit.
ENTRYWAY MAKEOVER PROCESS
We started this entryway makeover with paint because…well, every good DIY involves paint!
For the bench {which is used all the time} she wanted to cover up the worn and knicked up green with a warm cream color. She settled on “Vanilla Frosting” from Country Chic Paint. And because this bench is loved on hard, a few coats of their “Tough Coat” was the perfect solution.
This cabinet holds the bulk of the family’s shoes. It is a pretty amazing piece of furniture and she decided to go green with it…as in the color of my kitchen cabinets! {Click HERE for all those details.}
While I had the paint out, I figured that a fresh look for their planter would be fun too! If you haven’t figured it out yet…paint can fix most anything. It’s like a DIYer’s solution to whatever ails a situation.
SIMPLE ENTRYWAY AFTER
A little straightening up and we just put everything back in place.
Really, the best part of this was spending time with my brother, SIL, and their two youngest kiddos. I only get to see them a few times a year, so it was fun to just do life with them for a few days. My nephew talked my ear off and I loved every minute of it. Afterwards, he referred to me as his “best friend” and even Face Timed me a few times in the weeks following my visit.
Not every entrance to a home is a separate room. And I love how my SIL has carved out the side of their family room to help them all get in and out of the house. She has gathered a few beautiful and functional pieces that made this simple entryway makeover so easy.
What is your favorite part? The furniture? That brick wall? Or maybe it’s the little boots next to the big ones…

Thank you, Donna. I don’t get to see my family much, so this was fun to do a project and hang out with them.

I think my favorite part of the makeover (aside from that gorgeous brick and furniture pieces) is that your SIL created a functional space in her home to fit her family’s needs! So many decorate for those perfect pictures or appearance and forget that we live in our homes. Not just stage them for pretty photos to share on social media. So my favorite thing is that she is using the space she has for what works best for her family!

Yay! I love that about this space too. Functional beauty ♥
