The holiday season can fill our days with a lot of activity. A simple home Christmas decor focus was the solution to keeping myself from feeling overwhelmed. In using mostly what I’ve collected from previous years, it was fun to re-imagine our home decorated for Christmas in a new way.

I am really excited to be sharing our simple home Christmas tour with you today, along with some amazing bloggers who are also opening their home. If you’ve popped over from Kelly at The Tattered Pew, then welcome! Glad to have you here!
SIMPLE HOME CHRISTMAS TOUR
After gathering together my bins of Christmas decor, I decided to focus on green, burgundy, gold, and lights. That gave me a launching pad that I could keep coming back to. Since I was focusing on keeping it simple, I ended up not using everything I had and repacking some of it to use another year. There were a few new decor items that I added, but each were pieces that I was really excited about.
FESTIVE LIVING ROOM
Our living room has been fairly neutral, but since we spend a lot of time in here, I wanted to bring lots of Christmas cheer to this room.
By changing out the pillow covers, Christmas came in an instant. And then my daughter and I added the hoop wreaths to the wall. That has been a fun and unexpected addition to our simple home Christmas decor.

〈LIVING ROOM MAKEOVER〉 〈PAINTING OUR FIREPLACE〉
This is our first Christmas after painting our living room and patching up the electric sockets above the mantel. Having those there presented a design challenge and I was excited to decorate any way I wanted to now that they’ve been removed.
〈HOW TO HANG A VINTAGE MIRROR〉 〈EASY DIY MANTEL〉
The garland was created using three strands placed on top of and in front of a long strand of lights. Adding pinecones has given it a rustic feel, which I am enjoying next to the elegance of brass candlesticks.
On the other side of our living room, we have a cozy corner with our loveseat. It was fun to add these seasonal prints to tie in the green and burgundy.

A SIMPLE LIBRARY CHRISTMAS
This is also the first Christmas with our library’s black accent wall. It’s been fun to see how decor pops against such a dark background. I did keep it quite simple with just a few mini gold bottle brush trees and a strand of red beads.
KITCHEN CHRISTMAS TOUCHES
Continuing the “theme” of greenery, pinecones, lights, and gold, I added a simple garland in our kitchen. The garland is one fuller strand and a thin strand that I’ve had for a very long time. Battery operated candles and twinkle lights give it a sweet glow each evening.
〈KITCHEN CABINET MAKEOVER〉 〈ADDING OPEN SHELVES TO OUR KITCHEN〉
Also, simmering out of view is my Christmas potpourri. Our new oven has a “warm zone” and I just know that it was invented for Christmas potpourri! {Click HERE for that simple recipe.}
By adding in a few bells, the gold was tied in from our living room. I used some wire to strand them together since I didn’t want to see any type of string or twine.
AN UNPRETENTIOUS FRONT ENTRYWAY
Since we come and go from our front entryway many times a day. And with the space being so small, we want to welcome guests into our home without a lot of extra stuff getting in the way. But a little nod to Christmas was needed.
Hanging this print from a winter scene in Holland with a simple tree has brought just enough simple home Christmas cheer to this space. {Click HERE for the print.}
〈VINTAGE DRESSER IN THE ENTRYWAY〉 〈DIY FAUX WALLPAPER AND ENTRYWAY MAKEOVER〉
On the other side of our entryway is our staircase and for the first time, I added a little Christmas decor to the banister. It’s actually four different sections that I typically hang separately {like I did HERE last year}. This was a fun way to add a pop of color and a little festive feel.
〈$100 ENTRYWAY AND STAIRCASE MAKEOVER〉
This has been a fun year of re-imaging my Christmas decor with the help of a few new intentional items. Having the idea of a simple home Christmas is just what my heart has needed during this full season of life I find myself in.

Loved your Christmas decorations, all the greenery and simplicity were beautiful. I love, too, that you have antiques in your home. I love the antique and vintage touch. Oh and the deer! I passed on two of them this season and have regretted it since!!! lol
