I am craving simple and natural Christmas decor right now. Maybe it’s because we just moved. Or maybe it’s because I’m starting to see that we have more…when we have less. Either way, I decided to create a simple and natural Christmas setting in our dining room. And guess what? I love it. Maybe it’s the wonderful scent from the pine needles and dried oranges. Or maybe it’s the flickering of white candles on the windowsill.

This look was so easy to achieve. I used the greenery that was cut from our Christmas tree, oranges from the grocery store, and simple white candles. {Even if you have a faux Christmas tree, you can pick up free tree clippings anywhere that trees are being sold! Just stop in and ask!}
The dried oranges were so easy to make. Simply slice, pat them dry with a paper towel, lay flat on a cookie sheet, and set them in a 225° oven for a few hours. Flip them over after one hour and check at two hours if they have fully dried.
Set them on a cooling rack to fully set and then string them together.
I even laid some among the greenery on my windowsill.
Our Advent “wreath” is simply taper candles hot glued into an enamelware bowl with greenery swathed around it.

A bowl of fresh oranges and a few pomegranates in the hutch help tie the colors in the room together.
May this Christmas season be one where you find the joy and peace that your soul is craving.
